SightReader
Use the Settings tab to choose input, output, and display preferences. SightReader will accept MIDI or microphone input.
Your settings will be saved to your device for your browser.
Then, back in the Practice tab, load a MusicXML file, or a score from the library (if you have access to one). Set your tempo, and press the Record (●) button. If you checked the metronome or lead-in options in settings you will now hear them. Other than that, SightReader will stay out of your way until you click the Stop (⏹) button. Then it will highlight notes (green for correct, red for wrong, orange for early/late, and gray for missed).
Once you have completed your practice, you can listen to the original score; an audio recording of your performance; or the notes and timing the system detected from your performance.
Click the
- Score (🎼) button,
- My Performance (🎤) button,
- or the Detected (🔍🎵) button,
Use the Results tab to view the system's accuracy rating of your performance (for notes, rhythm, and combined).
To retry, simply click the Record (●) button again.
For multi-part scores, click on the Next Part (⏩) button to move on to the next part of the score. Or load a new score to practice.
